President Correa applauds Pablo Milanes in Quito

By: Rose Ana Berbeo.Quito, Mar 13 (Prensa Latina) Fans of Pablo Milanes filled the Agora auditorium in Quito on Saturday night, and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa sat in the front row to enjoy the concert by one of the Cuban founders of the Nueva Trova or New Song Movement.

The overflow crowd for the free concert in the 5,000-seat theater watched the show on a giant screen in an adjoining theater.

The Milanes concert was opened by Guayaquil singer Hugo Idrovo, whom the audience applauded, singing along, including Quito Mayor Augusto Barrerra and several government ministers.

Pablo Milanés (Bayamo, Cuba, Feb. 24, 1943) is a componer, singer, guitarrist and singer-songwriter, one of the founders of Nueva Trova, along with Silvio Rodriguez and Noel Nicola, and his love song "Yolanda" is known worldwide.
