2011.03.12 - 11:27:25 / radiorebelde.Argentinean Expert Highlights Cuba’s Achievements in Health. Havana, Cuba.- Argentinean psychiatrist Alfredo Grande Mesa underlined in this capital that Cuba is the world leader in the field of health.

Grande Mesa, a professor with the National University of Buenos Aires and president of the Argentinean-Cuban Association of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (ACAPSI), stressed the high scientific level and devotion of Cuban professionals.

The Argentinean professor, who is also an Honorary Member of the Cuban Society of Psychiatry and participated in the 5th International Conference PSICOHABANA 2011 that wound up on Friday, highlighted the exchanges existing between Argentina and Cuba in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, endorsed by the constitution of the ACAPSI.

The professor, who has visited the Caribbean island 12 times, emphasized that the creation of that organization is aimed at contributing to the development of the specialty, psychoanalytical orientation, supervision and training, so it guarantees encouraging results.

During PSICOHABANA 2011, which brought together at the capital’s Convention Center 250 delegates from some 20 countries, the physician spoke about psychotherapy in Argentina today and offered a keynote lecture on the vincular dimension of psychotherapy.

During the closing of the event, Deputy Public Health Minister Roberto Gonzalez recalled that on January 9, 1959, Dr. Eduardo Bernabe Ordaz was appointed director of Havana’s Psychiatric Hospital, a reference center in this specialty.(ACN)
