Japan Herald. Friday 4th March, 2011.People's Daily. Three Japanese baseball coaches arrived here Thursday to give a course to their Cuban counterparts on pitching, batting and physical training until March 17.

The coaches are Masatake Yamanaka and Atsuyoshi Otake, former coaches of Hosei and Waseda universities respectively, and Shinji Inoue, former outfielder of the Yomiuri Giants.Yamanaka knows very well the Cuban baseball team, then he was the coach of the Japanese team that played against Cubans in the finals in Barcelona Olympics 1992, when Cuba won the gold medal.

Last February, Jose Ramon Fernandez, president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, announced the arrival of the Japanese coaches.He said that the Japanese will give two local technical courses in Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
