SHEENAH SINGH came into the world in Lowell, Massachusetts to a Brazilian Indian Father and a Cuban Mother. The rest of the story is remarkable in how she started in the world of music inspired by her heritage.
Sheenah started by playing the piano at a very young age and left many people impressed. She was then enrolled in modeling and acting school where she impressed more people. Sheenah started to compose her own songs at the age of 12.
The parents of Sheenah were so impressed that they decided to leave Massachusetts for Miami, Florida. It was in Miami that her career began to take off like a hurricane and left many people demanding for more.
Sheenah started recording songs such as "I Want To Be Free", "Ritmo Caliente", and "Muevate Muevate" which became great hits. She also recorded the song "Pain Pain" to rave reviews in the local press.
Ritmo Caliente is Spanish for Hot Rhythm while Muevate Muevate means moving two times. The music of Sheenah knows no limits since she has been able to fuse the rhythms of India, Brazil, and Cuba into a style that is all of her own.
Sheenah started to receive a lot of popularity in Europe, South Africa, as well as Asian countries such as India, China, Japan, and Korea. She has also had top hits in various Latin American countries. The one thing that sets Sheenah apart from most of the artists in her time is her attitude towards life.
Sheenah is a down to earth singer and songwriter with a substantial knowledge of world culture and the reality of life. She treats her fans to great music that comes from the heart and soul instead of plasticity.
During a concert in the Calle Ocho [8th Street] Festival and another at Uva Restaurant in Coral Gables, Florida, she took the time to sign autographs and wish her fans the best in everything. The rest is history as India, Brazil, and Cuba share one thing in common: Sheenah. It is for this reason that Sheenah deserves to be known as the 21st Century Queen of Latin Pop.
