2011.02.19 - 12:06:21 /radiorebelde.Japanese TV Network Airs Program About Cuba. Havana, Cuba.- The TV network of the Japanese municipality of Minato, Tokyo, premiered a program about Cuba with the collaboration of the diplomatic staff of the island in the Asian country. The program will be broadcast three times a day throughout this month.

Based on interviews to Cuban ambassador Jose Fernandez de Cossio and Science and Culture attachés Tania Dominguez and Sheila Llano, the program offers Japanese viewers details about the Cuban society and culture.

Likewise, it offers information on the island’s tourism industry, its World Heritage sites and typical food, among other traditions.

A press release by the Cuban Foreign Ministry says the strong bonds between the Cuban diplomatic mission with Minato’s authorities has made it possible to jointly carry out other activities aimed at increasing each people’s knowledge of the other nation.

The program concludes with a message by the Cuban ambassador thanking the people of Minato for their hospitality of the Cuban diplomatic staff based in that municipality of Tokyo and inviting them to visit Cuba.

In Minato, Japanese painter Chizuko Owaki created a project of cultural exchange called Zunzun-Donguri. The group organizes, jointly with the Cuban embassy, exhibitions of contemporary art at the Takanawa Kumin Cultural Center.(ACN)
