Cuban Traditional Music Anthology Disk Ready

Santiago de Cuba, Feb 18 (Prensa Latina) The long awaited Anthology of Santiago Music produced by BisMusic of ARTEX Corporation is ready for release and is a collection of significant pieces of Cuban music.
Gonzalo Gonzalez, executive producer, reported that the three-volume recording was the responsibility of Jose Manuel Garcia and Eddy Cardosa who had the collaboration of technicians of Siboney Studios of the Recording and Music Productions Company here.
He added that it includes 39 numbers by the same number of interpreters, featuring soloists and groups in a broad and wide spectrum that includes sons, guarachas, boleros and other important genres of traditional Cuban music.
Gonzalez pointed out the artistic beauty that accompanies images that identify the city such as the Padre Pico stairs in the cover and paintings by Miguel Angel Botalin, Antonio Ferrer Cabello and Jose Julian Aguilera Vicente.
A poem declaimed by Luis Carbonell heads off the recordings accompanied by notes of the writer, Reynaldo Cedeño, and such long lasting melodies as Tristezas, Como cambian los tiempos, El fiel enamorado, Cuidadito Compay Gallo and Frutas del Caney.
Eliades Ochoa and Santiago Orfeon are some of the voices heard in this recording as a well as composers such as Compay Segundo, Rosendo Ruiz, Lorenzo Hierrezuelo, Enrique Bonne and Electo Silva.
Other projects of BisMusic with Santiago de Cuba musicians include the Estudiantina Invasora represented by the Vieja Trova Santiaguera with Omara Portuondo and Adriano Rodriguez as invited singers as well as a production with Ecos del Tivoli and the collaboration of Pancho Amat.
