HAVANA, Feb 12 (NNN-Prensa Latina): Chinese firm Beijing North Star, for ten years in the Cuban market, considers Cuba as a model in the promotion of clean energy-based production in Latin America.

We offer Cuba solar heaters and Aeolian energy generators in which other regional countries are also interested, President of the company Helen Yang told Prensa Latina while attending the International Convention and Fair Informatica 2011.

Regarding benefits of her attending the event, Yang said that a Venezuelan company expressed interest in their solar heaters and another firm from Panama was interested in clean energy, mainly solar energy.

Yang, who has visited Cuba in several occasions, said to be in talks with the Ministry of Basic Industry in order to supply aeolian energy generators, as part of Cuban efforts to develop alternative energy sources.

Thanks to the permanent representation they have in Cuba, Beijing North Star has been doing business with Venezuela and the Dominican Republic since last year, said Yang, as she recalled the start of collaboration with local Education and health sectors.

Beijing North Star supplies Cuba office products and materials and calculators, besides a broad range of solar energy-powered products.

Nearly one hundred firms from 17 countries, including 31 Cuban, are taking part in the fair and at least 2,000 delegates from 35 countries are attending the Informatics Convention.
