President of Paraguay seeks medical treatment in Cuba

Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo will stop in Cuba for medical treatment before proceeding to a tour of Asian nations, Paraguay’s foreign ministry announced.

Lugo, a former bishop and left-leaning populist, will receive a treatment for tendonitis Feb. 16-20 in Havana. Cuba “cordially” invited Lugo for medical treatment, according to the press bulletin.

Lugo is scheduled to visit Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan March 9-15.
