2011.02.09 - 11:27:02 / radiorebelde.vHAVANA, CUBA.- The development of antivirus programs and network security are some of the main topics to be discussed during the Tenth beroamerican Seminar on Security of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) that begins today at Havana’s Convention Center.

During the meeting, which is taking place as part of the 14th International Fair and Convention on Informatics (Informatica 2011), renowned world experts will discuss topics related to Malware and Antivirus Software, as well as the analysis and statistics on malignant programs.

They will also analyze a technological approach on the protection of information processed by ICTs, as well as servers’ security, services, and network devices.

As in previous occasions, experts from the Kaspersky Lab are attending the Seminar as well as companies such as CriptoRed, Cybsec SA., and VirusTotal.

Wednesday’s program includes the key lectures “Convergence of New Technologies and Multimedia” by Canadian Dr. Herve Fisher and “Space Access: Opportunities of Small Satellites” by Dr. F. J. Mendieta, director of the SENSAT project in Mexico.

The International Convention and Fair on Informatics runs in Havana until Friday with the participation of nearly 2,000 representatives from 35 countries and almost 70 Cuban and foreign companies.

The event is taking place under the slogan “Converging Technologies: Integration and Independence.” It is sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Informatics and Communications, the ITU, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).(ACN)
