Los dias mambises (The Mambi Days), by Jose Marti, a text on the War Diary of the Cuban National Hero, will be presented to the public on February 12, as part of the program of the 20th edition of Havana’s International Book Fair.

The book, by Maria Luisa Garcia and Lucia Sanz, printed by the Abril Publishing House, will be launched at the Jose Marti Cultural Society.

Paradoxically not very much known, this diary was one of the favorites of great Cuban intellectual Jose Lezama Lima, who considered it the most sublime literary creation of the Apostle, full of keys to understand our own nationality.

The writers look back to those crucial days when the author of the Versos Sencillos (Simple Verses) felt as a full revolutionary, putting his life at risk every moment of his life in defense of his ideals, out of love for his country.
