Holguin, Cuba, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) Beginning Tuesday, films will be screened in Los Panaderos Cave in the Cuban city of Gibara as a sub-venue of the Lebu International Film Festival in Chile.

The February 1-3 event in Cuba is being held in parallel with the festival in Lebu, a Chilean mining town, according to the National Information Agency (AIN).

The festival has Mexico as its guest country, and screenings of its films will also take place in La Boca del Lobo Club of Madrid, Spain, and at the Documentary Film Observatory-School of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The event in Cuba is sponsored by the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) and the Provincial Cinema Center of Holguin, among others institutions.

It aims to show low-budget productions of high aesthetic and visual quality in several communities.

Gibara will host the Competition of International Documentaries in addition to granting a popularity prize, said Sergio Benvenuto, director of the Humberto Solas International Low-Budget Film Festival and organizer of this meeting, according to AIN.
