17:05, January 28, 2011. In a renewed effort to ban illegal satelllite dishes, Cuban authorities reiterated that the law prohibits manufacturing and marketing of such dishes and antennas.

Authorities will remain vigilant against such "violations" and cut "the chains of illegality" in Cuba, the official daily Granma said Thursday.

The illegal manufacture, sale and possession of such equipment have been banned several times in the island nation, but many Cubans still try to keep their receivers camouflaged and seek ways to decode the signals.

"This television broadcasts illegally distributed messages aimed at destabilizing our cultural values," the newspaper warned. "In many of those programs appear notorious terrorists who encourage violence against the Cuban people."
