In light of President Obama’s recent announcement to ease travel restrictions to Cuba, Christopher P. Baker, a renowned Cuba travel expert and author of the best-selling Moon travel guidebook, Moon Cuba, answers several key questions on how to plan a trip to Cuba.

Berkeley, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 26, 2011. There are many changes taking place when it comes to U.S. citizens and travel to Cuba. To help Americans better understand what the new measures mean, Christopher P. Baker, author of the best-selling Moon Cuba travel guide, has written an article detailing what to expect, estimated costs, and more. The complete article can be found on the Moon Travel Guides website. The informative piece covers a variety of topics, including the following Cuba-related questions:

-What do the new Cuba travel provisions mean for U.S. citizens?
-Can U.S. citizens travel solo, or is group travel mandatory?
    - On average, how much does it cost to travel with a tour group (in U.S. dollars)? Are there any groups or agencies       you’d recommend?
    - Are there monetary or length of stay restrictions U.S. citizens need to be aware of?

“Having visited Cuba more than 30 times since 1993, I can attest that Cuba is a place that must be visited. Now with measures in place to make it more accessible to every U.S. citizen, there’s no excuse not to go,” Baker said.

According to Baker, Cuba is responding to President Obama’s announcement to accommodate the influx of visitors, and is in the midst of upgrading its tourist infrastructure to guarantee American visitors the level of travel they expect. From visiting a cigar factory in Havana to relaxing on one of Cuba’s scenic beaches, a visit to Cuba will offer something for every traveler.

"Cuba for tourists has changed beyond recognition since my initial visit in 1993," Baker said. "The government (which owns all hotels) has been polishing its style. Charming boutique hotels are appearing. A national bus service—Víazul—guarantees tourists prompt service, and there's no shortage of Toyota and Mercedes taxis. Nor the latest model Hyundais and Audis for rent."
