Havana - Angola hopes to continue counting on Cuba's contribution in various domains, with reciprocal advantages, on Thursday said the Angolan Vice-President, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, ANGOP has learnt.

In an interview to the Telesul television broadcasting station, the Angolan official said Cuba has been evolving from the scientific standpoint and Angola hopes to continue counting on the Cuban assistance and contribution to face the various challenges in the fight for development and improvement of the conditions of the populations.

The Vice-President considered as positive the existing co-operation, mainly in the domains of health and education and defends the continuation of the co-operation relations, meant to ecover the country from the consequences of the war and promote the social and economic growth.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos pointed out as one of the advantages the fact that Cubans experienced with Angolans some of the most difficult moments lived by the African country, adapting themselves to the different areas of the country and the facility of communication, as well as their revolutionary feeling.

The source reminded that the Cuban contribution was relevant and determining factor for the moment of Angola's independence proclamation and the defence of the territory, in a time the country was facing an aggression from foreign forces.

Asked about the gains of the country, after the peace conquest in 2002, the Vice-President said the government, in its strategy, have set up as priority the reconstruction of infrastructures destroyed during the armed conflict, with highlight to roads, bridges and buildings.
