Havana, Cuba.- The National Center for Information in Medical Sciences (Infomed) of the Cuban Public Health Ministry, has announced the celebration of the 2nd International Exhibition on Audiovisuals in Health Sciences, Videosalud 2011 (Videohealth 2011), for the months of May and June.

Among the objectives of the forum, we find to encourage the creation and spreading of audiovisual works of scientific nature and high ethical and aesthetic values, mainly aimed at health priorities in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the advances and challenges of world health.

In addition, the meeting will favor exchanges and cooperation between institutions, health, information and communication professionals, creators, producers and the public.

The Videosalud 2011 theoretical event will be held in a virtual way from May 17th through June 17th, while the audiovisual exhibition (informative and competitive) will take place on May 17-20 at the halls of Infomed in Havana, the organizing committee announced.

Video makers will decide whether they will send their works to the competitive or to the informative exhibitions, which will be submitted to a committee of experts to assess if they meet the event’s requirements. Works enclosed will be included in the funds of the National Medical Library to be subsequently consulted.

The audiovisual works on health sciences will be able to participate in the modality of competitive exhibition, in the Documentary, Multimedia, Didactic, Informative, Television Program, Film Sequence and Unpublished Script categories.

The jury will be composed of prestigious Cuban and foreign professionals of health sciences and audiovisual communication.(ACN)
