Together with Alcolea, two times consecutive champion of the Tour of Cuba (2009 and 2010), will be cyclists Yasmany Martinez, Yennier Lopez, Lisuandi Alonso, Alien Garcia and Pedro Portuondo, the Jit Web site reported.

The Cuban sextet will be directed by trainer Cecilio Mera, with the support of mechanic Nelson Socorro and physiotherapist Luis Orlando González.

Meanwhile, the Cuban mountain bike team participating in the Tour of Tachira, Venezuela, had Ihosvany Caceres as its main figure on Thursday, who won the last sprint counting towards the second stage, thus placing himself top of that category together with another three competitors.

Venezuelan Miguel Chacon won this first route, officially considered that of the opening, after the postponement of the initial date due to bad conditions of the route.

The second route will cover 153..8 kilometers between the localities of  Elorza and Guasdualito and includes four finishing lines.

The other athletes completing the Caribbean sextet are Lizardo Benitez, Vicente Sanabria, Joel Solenzal, Jose Mujica and Yoandry Freyre.(ACN)
