By Rodrigo / [email protected] / Friday, 14 January 2011. More than a hundred foreign and Cuban specialists are to attend the Third International Symposium on Cardiovascular Investigation to star tomorrow at the Playa Pesquero hotel, in the municipality of Rafael Freyre, in Holguin province.

Doctor in medical sciences Delfin Rodriguez Leyva, who is a noted Cuban heart physician and the event’s co-chairman, highlighted the presence of honorable doctor Naranjan S. Dhalla, the executive director of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences with representations in all the continents.

But also doctor Pawan K. Singal, also co-chairman of this scientific event that calls prominent cardiologists, doctor Lorenzo Rojas Llerena, the president of the Cuban Cardiology Society, and professors Juan Prohias, Alvaro Lagomasino and Angel Paredes.

The event that also welcomes the Second Cuba-Canada Heart Symposium is sponsored by the Cardiovascular Sciences Institute of Winnipeg, Canada, the Vladimir Ilich Lenin general teaching hospital of Holguin - Cuba and the Cuban Cardiology Society.

Dr. Delfin Rodriguez added that several themes will be debated in the event, as the lecture by Michael Kutryk, a doctor in medical sciences from Toronto, Canada.
