The cable, which is 1,012 miles long, is on board a French boat bound for Venezuela, along with technology required for cable laying and a submarine robot for installation monitoring, Efe reported.

According to the work schedule, the installation of the fiber optic cable, which will cost about USD 70 million, will begin on January 18-20 in Camurí, near the Venezuelan port of La Guaira. The cable will reach Siboney beach at the Cuban eastern city of Santiago in the first half of February.
