Escrito por ana valdes portela. sábado, 25 de diciembre de 2010.Havana, Dec 25 (Prensa Latina) The United status government was informed of the efforts of Cuba in the battle against drug traffic and laws to combat drugs, but denies it.

A document released by Wikileaks and published in the Reasons of Cuba web tab of Cubadebate points out that a cable sent by the US Interest Section in Havana on March 17, 2009 mentions the collaboration of the island to apply the law in cases of drug and persons traffic.

It points out that three Cuban officials had systematic contacts with US experts many times since the arrival in this country in August 2008, even two operations related to application of the law.

The subjects of March 9 "pointed out the Wikileaks cable" included the confiscation of marihuana in the eastern province of Holguin and the suspicious traffic of immigrants now detained by the Cuban government.

The information released by Wikileaks demonstrates the falsity of the arguments of the White House in its campaign to distort the fight against drug traffic waged by the island, revealing a non existent link with drug traffickers.

Last September 6 Granma daily informed that during the first half of the year and through integral strategies, 1,592 kilograms of different drugs were confiscated, less than the 2.246 kilograms during the same period in 2009.hr/jrr/joe/avp. Modificado el ( sábado, 25 de diciembre de 2010 )
