Escrito por Dayami Interián García. viernes, 24 de diciembre de 2010. La Paz, Dec 24 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales highlighted the significance of the Cuban Revolution, calling it the first of its kind in the region.

Thanks to the Cuban Revolution, other processes of change are taking place in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Bolivia, he added.

Cuba is not alone, Evo said during a ceremony to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. The UN General Assembly resolution condemning the U.S. economic blockade against the island won majority support, Morales recalled.

"Cuba's experience in solidarity is unbeatable. The presence of Cuban and Venezuelan brothers and sisters has been decisive to the democratic cultural revolution in Bolivia," he said.

"I have no words to thank Cuba for what it has done not only in Bolivia but in the rest of the world as well," the president said.

What the island accomplishes in sectors such as health and education is extraordinary, he added.

Thanks to Cuba and the example of Ernesto Che Guevara, the revolutionary processes of change in Latin America are unstoppable.

Having suffered injustice and inequality, the peoples are now deciding which is the best way, he said.

"Bolivia will never forget the Cuban people's solidarity, and we want to keep working together to strengthen our revolutions, and to liberate other Latin American countries," Morales stated.hr/rab/dig/ism. Modificado el ( viernes, 24 de diciembre de 2010 )
