Havana, Dec 16 (EFE) .- A high concentration of ice on the plane due to extreme weather conditions and the crew's errors were the causes for the plane crash with 68 deadly victims occurred in Cuba in November, official sources reported today.

The Civil Aeronautics Institute today released a note for the media outlets about the outcome of the accident's investigation taking place on November the 4th when a local Aerocaribbean company plane, traveling  from Santiago de Cuba to Havana crashed in the central province of Sancti Spiritus.

According to the official note, the flight was developing normally until they faced extreme weather conditions in the route that led to the "severe icing" (high concentration of ice) on the spacecraft at 20,000 feet (6036 meters) of height.

This circumstance, "together with the crew's error" in handling the situation, caused the accident, as
analysis being made from the "aircraft's black boxes" concludes.

The official source indicated that the plane, an ATR 72-212, was in good technical condition, properly operating systems and the crew had their licenses updated.

The accident killed all travellers of the ATR Aerocaribbean, totaling 68 people, forty of them Cuban nationality.

The rest of the passengers were foreigners: ten Argentines, seven Mexicans, three Dutch, two Germans, two Australians, one French, Japanese, Venezuelan and Spanish.
