Dong Son bronze drum on display at La Habana City’s Asian House in Cuba. Cuba and Vietnam are celebrating 50 years of friendship and cooperation with a cultural exhibition in Cuba’s La Habana City December 2, 2010.

The project – Vietnam’s Space – organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Exhibition Center for Vietnam’s Culture and Arts will showcase antiques, photographs and traditional dresses.

Exhibits include sculptures and artifacts tracing Vietnam’s history through the ages. On display are 20 artifacts dating back to the Dong Son culture (2,000 BC-200 AD); eight antiques from Sa Huynh period (1,000 BC-200 AD); six from Oc Eo culture (1-630 AD); seven from Cham culture; and artifacts of Ly, Tran, Le, and Nguyen dynasties.

There are also a photo exhibition featuring Vietnam’s landscapes, world cultural heritages such as Khue Van Cac Pavilion, Ha Long Bay, and Phong Nha-Ke Bang, and a showcase of the country’s traditional wear like ao tu than (four-panel traditional dress), ao dai (Vietnamese long dress); and costumes of the ethnic minority H’Mong.Vietnam’s Space will be held at the Asian House (Historical Center) in La Habana.
