An oil print of a recreation of the first portrait of Cuban leader Fidel Castro by Oswaldo Guayasamín was given Friday to the Ecuadorian vice president, Lenin Moreno, by representatives of Guayasamin Foundation and Radio Habana Cuba.

At the conclusion of the ceremony for the successful completion of the Manuela Espejo Mission to people with disabilities, at the Palacio de Cristal of Itchimbía Park, Moreno received the painting, dedicated by its author, Camaguey painter Agustín Bejarano.

The executive secretary of the Guayasamin Foundation, Alfredo Vera, and deputy director of Radio Habana Cuba, Pedro Martinez Pirez, described to Moreno the special characteristics of this work that was painted in May 1961 and which has disappeared.

Moreno thanked the gesture, surrounded by Cuban doctors from Manuela Espejo Mission, who return to Cuba on Sunday after 487 days of work in which almost 300,000 cases of disability in the territory of Ecuador were studied.
