Spanish hotel chain SOL MELIA has opened its 25th hotel in Cuba Wednesday, all of them Cuban property establishments, reasserting its business on the Cuban tourism that the company started 20 years ago.

The Melia Buenavista All Inclusive Royal Service and Spa Hotel is located in Cayo Santa Maria, north of the central province of Villa Clara, and is a new offer for luxury services, reports the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in this capital Wednesday.

A MINTUR release adds the hotel has 105 rooms with the so-called Royal Service.  It will only receive guests over 18 years of age in its 100 Junior Suite rooms, 4 Suites and the Zaida del Rio Village. The village was named in honor to local female painter Zaida del Rio.

The opening of the hotel coincides with the start of the winter season, the best for Cuban tourism, between the months of December and April.

Hotel executives have highlighted the resort's great elegance, refined style, high comfort, personalized attention, privacy and VIP treatment.

The Royal Service is present in hotels such as Melia Cohiba, Melia Havana, Melia Santiago, Paradisus Varadero and others.

Cayo Santa Maria is a 13-kilometer (eight-mile) square destination next to Caibarien, and linked to this Cuban town by a highway 43 kilometers (27 miles) long over the sea, which facilitates connection to Santa Clara (capital of the province of Villa Clara), where the airport is.

The hotel is in a place called Punta Madruguilla, west of Santa Maria and it is the fourth establishment of its kind in this place by Sol Melia.

The company started with the Cayo Santa Maria, Melia Las Dumas and Sol Cayo Santa Maria Hotels.

Cuba receives more than two million visitors a year since 2006.
