Verdict reached states the death sentence is replaced and instead a 30 years imprinsonment has been issued.  

December 3 2010. Raúl Ernesto Cruz León, a Salvadoran terrorist ended his appeal on a death sentence this Friday for the crime of continued terrorism against the State Security, the trial was held at the Supreme Court, sources from the Cuban web site, Cubadebate reported.

Cruz León is the mastermind of blasts taking place in tourist hotel chains in Havana in 1997, he was sent to the island for these goals by the Cuban American National Foundation and Posada Carriles, who happened to lead this terrorist net from Central America but it was financed by the USA aiming to destroy the Cuban revolution.

Cruz Leon's criminal activities caused the death of Fabio di Celmo, an Italian tourist, and huge material damages to tourist facilities in Havana. Cruz León declared he was recruited by Chavez Abarca in El Salvador, Chavez Abarca was captured in Venezuela, right at the airport and was extraditted to Cuba in July of this same year.
