President of Cuban Parliament Concludes Visit to ChinaHAVANA, CUBA.- The president of the Cuban National Assembly (Parliament), Ricardo Alarcon, concluded on Friday an official visit to China, where he met with Vice President Xi Jinping and with the president of the Permanent Committee of the Chinese People’s National Assembly, Wu Bangguo.

During his stay in the Asian nation, Alarcon also met with State Counselor Dai Bingguo; with the president of the Chinese People’s Political Consultation Conference, Jia Qinglin; with the vice president of the People’s National Assembly, Uyunqimg; and with the head of the International Relations Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Wang Jiarui.

During the meetings, they all praised the excellent state of bilateral relations, whose 50th anniversary was celebrated recently.

They also expressed their willingness to continue strengthening cooperation ties in various sectors and to work toward the socio-economic development of both countries.

In the first part of this five-day visit, Alarcon was in the municipality of Chongqing, which is subordinated to the central government, where he met with the First Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party in that territory, Bo Xilai, and with the head of the local government, Chen Guangguo.
