Cuban Cardinal Jaime Ortega and Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jiménez talked on Thursday for 90 minutes about the "adaptation and future" of the Cuban political prisoners who have settled in Spain in the past several months, diplomatic sources in Madrid told the press.

They also exchanged "impressions" about the process of socioeconomic reforms launched in Cuba by President Raúl Castro, the sources said, without providing any detail.

The Foreign Ministry issued a one-sentence statement saying that the cardinal and the minister met "to talk about the current situation on the island."
