ALBA trade office opens in Havana

An office promoting trade between member nations of the ALBA bloc opened in Havana earlier this month, Agencia Venezolana de Noticias reported.

The office will promote products and services from Venezuela, in addition to — for now — Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua and other ALBA member countries.

The “Oficina Comercial de la Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América-Tratado de Comercio entre los Pueblos (Alba-TCP)” is an annex to the Venezuelan embassy in Havana.

During an opening ceremony, Eyilde Margarita Gracia, Venezuelan deputy minister for financial planning, urged the embassies of other ALBA nations in Havana to follow suit.

“Based on the daily knowledge of our needs, we can speed up exchanges between our countries,” Gracia said.
