EFE. La Habana. The President of Cuba, Raul Castro, said economics is the "first subject" for all the nation’s leaders where it is necessary to apply "real savings programs" and insisted that the ideas of his brother Fidel "are the background " of everything being made on the island today.
According to the Cuban official media , Raul Castro made these considerations during a meeting of the Council of Ministers held last weekend to discuss the economic plan and budget for 2011.
This economic draft will be debated in the Cuban parliament on Dec. 15 during the second ordinary session of 2010. He also remarked the need for real savings programs in the country, "because it is the fastest and safest way and continued saying: “As I said a few days ago, the ideas of former President Fidel Castro are the basis of the policies applied today”, referring to the adjustment plan to "upgrade" the socialist economic model.
Cuba finds itself in the debate on the reform agenda to "upgrade" its economic model trying to overcome the serious crisis affecting the country.
