In a statement made to AIN, he explained that the repertoire includes famous songs, such as Yolanda, El Naranjo del Patio, Ámame como Soy and La Carretera, songs that the public still remembers and sang during his presentations.

He commented as well that the he has included other songs, in the CD Regalo, a production in which he worked with the maestro Chucho Valdés, who accompanies him in the piano.

The record, which was out to the market in 2008, will be launched to the Cuban public in a tour that started in Guantánamo, continued in Bayamo and at the Calixto Garcia Revolution Square of Holguin, the place where the artist performed for the last time in 1995.

He told that he still is an artist who writes from nostalgia, which is where he finds his inspiration.

Regarding the different duets made along hsi career, he commented that he likes to share the stage with other artists, therefore, have recorded with different musicians with the most diverse styles, among them, recently, the Buena Fe group, the Baby Lores, regueton musicians and the ballad musician Alain Daniel.

Pablo Milanes was part in 1968 of the Centro de la Canción Protesta of Casa de las Américas and in the seventies of the XX century become a member of the Grupo de Experimentación Sonora del Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC).

Among the numerous distinctions he has, are the 2005 National Music Award the Felix Varela Order (1984), the Alejo Carpentier Order (1982) and he medal Haydee Santamaría (2006).

He won two Latino Grammy Awards in 2006. One to the best Singer for his record "Como un campo de maíz" and the second in the category of Best Traditional Tropical Album with "AM/PM, líneas paralelas", recorded together with the Puerto Rican singer Andy Montañez.
