Guitarist/composer Leo Brouwer and pianist Chucho Valdés were two Cuban winners of Latin Grammy Awards, Brouwer for Best Classical Music Album ("Integral de Cuartetos de Cuerda") and Valdés for Best Traditional Tropical Album ("El Último Trago," with Spanish singer Concha Buika.)

The awards were presented Thursday in Las Vegas.

Other Cubans nominated were singer Silvio Rodríguez ("Segunda Cita"); the Septeto Habanero ("90 Años: Orgullo de los Soneros"); the Sierra Maestra group ("Sonando Ya"); Edesio Alejandro ("100 Sones Cubanos") and composer Descemer Bueno ("Cuando Me Enamoro.")
