Marabana-2010 over Thousand Runners

More than a week before the close of registration for the international marathon Marabana-2010, more than 1,500 runners have entered the event.

Carlos Gattorno, director of Marabana, told Prensa Latina that so far they have received requests from more than 200 foreign marathoners from 42 countries.

He stated that these figures are very similar to the ones of previews years, depite the international crisis, and they are pleased that many runners and tour operators participate again in the event.

He also mentioned that Denmark, Costa Rica, Finland and Mexico are the countries with the highest number of registrations so far.

The international marathoon, which includes distances of 10,15,21 and 42 km, will be held on Sunday 21 in the traditional circuit, starting and finishing at the Capitol, in Havana.

On November 19, in the Adolfo Luque Hall of the Latinoamericano stadium, a press conference will be held on this year's event, and the official announcement for the Marabana-2011 will be made.
