Thomson Dream. Even though the Cuba cruises have sold “very, very well,” according to a Thomson executive quoted by Cruise Critic, in 2012, Thomson will move the Thomson Dream to Barbados, for logistical reasons.

“We have decided that, as we will only have one ship in the Caribbean in 2012, we need to offer the full repertoire of seven-night cruises, 14-night cruises and cruise-and-stay,” Cruise Critic quotes Thomson brand manager Ian Corbett. “Cuba could only ever be done as part of a 14-night cruise because of its location.”

Tropicana Cruises, a London-based startup, announced it would begin Cuba cruises in November, basing its 300-passenger Adriana in Havana. Meanwhile, Spanish startup Happy Cruises will base its Gemini in Havana this winter.
