The greatest amount of evacuated corresponds to the coastal areas of the municipality of Gibara, the most prone to flooding by wave heights that could register on Saturday as a result of prevailing weather conditions.

Gibara both the six other coastal municipalities of Holguin continue with the hurricane alert in the phase already issued, enacted by the National Headquarters of Civil Defense due to the impacts that could result in potential flooding.

With the experiences of Hurricane Ike, especially in Gibara, one of the areas most affected by this meteorological phenomenon, defense counsel in these areas are fully activated.
