HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 21 (acn) Cuba will host the 21st Congress of the Spanish National Travel Agents Association (AEDAVE) from October 26 to November 1 in the eastern cities of Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo and in the resort of Guardalavaca Beach, province of Holguin.

This will be the second occasion in which this kind of meeting will take place in the Caribbean island. A press release from the Cuban Tourism Ministry points out that the event will be attended by over 150 travel agents, guests and personalities from Spain, one of Cuba’s top five tourist markets.

The professional debate of the meeting is scheduled for October 27 at the Melia Santiago de Cuba hotel with the participation of a high-ranking executive from AEDAVE and other personalities from the tourism industry.

The other days will be dedicated to the promotion of Eastern Cuba as a tourist destination with a program of day trips around the event’s venues. For the seventh consecutive year, Cuba registered on Monday two million foreign tourist arrivals. The figure was reached 12 days earlier than in 2009. The main markets continue to be Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Mexico, Argentina and Russia.
