The press department of the Cuban National Ballet (BNC) announced that “Theme and Variations”, a choreography created in 1947 by Georges Balanchine specifically for Alicia Alonso, will be included in the program that will be presented to the founder of the BNC.

The program also includes ‘La Valse’ by Frederick Ashton and ‘Winter Dreams’ by Kenneth MacMillan with the performance of stars of the Royal Ballet such as Carlos Acosta, Tamara Rojo, Marianela Nuñez, Alina Cojocaru and Johan Kobborg.

The prima ballerina assoluta will travel to London to participate in a gala for the world premiere of a piece by choreographer Kim Brandstrup.

The Royal Ballet performed in Cuba for the first time in July 2009.
