09/30/2010. Ecuadorian people y social organizations spontaneously mobilized to the square in front of Presidential House, where thousands of people support the Government of President Rafael Correa against a coup attempt.

Although when police insubordination in cities across the country is presented as a protest against Public Service law, passed by ç Parliament on Wednesday by 106 of 120 votes, Government describes it as an attempt coup.

Well by the Coordinating Minister of External and Internal Security, Miguel Carvajal, who confirmed as a clear attempt to destabilize government and overthrow it.

The protest including direct attacks against President Correa by over 1000 policemen in front of Regimiento Quito 1 is the first time that active military troops try to destabilize the Revolution, which is supported by most of Ecuadorian people.

At Carondelet Palace, thousands of citizens express their support to Correa, who came out to the balcony to reaffirm the wish to not give into any pressure coming from those who come to torpedo the project of the citizen Revolution.

Some informations speak about alleged actions of soldiers in different parts of the country, in Quito traffic chaos reign, and it is said, without confirming, that the police try to take the National Assembly and that Air Force groups have taken control of some airports.

However, Government reiterate its confidence in military commands and stresses the manipulation by Medias of the content of a law meant to benefit all workers.

Correa has announced he will speak shortly to the crowd gathered in the Plaza Grande in front of the Carondelet Palace and related that he aimed and fired tear gas.

They might kill me, but there will be thousands more willing to give their lives to defend democracy and the Citizens' Revolution, Correa emphasized in Radio Publico.
