The Glucose Company of this port city in the center-south of Cuba today announced it will add Vimang to its production line, an antioxidant nutritional supplement also used for the skin´s aging processes, synthesized from the peel of certain varieties of mango (Mangifera indica L.)

The corn processor will increase its range of food products by manufacturing, in a first stage, 15 thousand liters of Vimang per month. This trade name is registered by Cuba in 21 countries, assured to the press its director, Jose de Armas.

Such production will be in conjunction with the Labiofam business group, with four decades of experience in producing and marketing a wide range of pharmaceutical, food, and hygiene products.

The program of the plant, which just celebrated its 30 years of existence, intends to increase manufacturing by 60 thousand units, with 12 percent concentration to gain effectiveness and savings in packaging, said De Armas.

According to the specialist Amelia Galdo, clinical studies of the compound prove its effectiveness in improving the quality of life in patients suffering from certain cancers, psoriasis, diabetes mellitus, prostate hyperplasia and bronchial asthma.

It is also effective in cases of infertility, poly-neuropathy, and hemorrhoids.
