09/17/2010. Almost 120 cyclists from 17 countries have confirmed their participation in the Pan American Master Cycling Championship in Havana September 20-25, the National News Agency reported.

Cyclists from Argentina, the USA, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Ecuador, Venezuela and Cuba will take place in this championship.

The largest group will be in the 40-44 category, with 40 competitors. Chilean Raul Jorquera is the only competitor in the oldest category, 65-and-older.

After a technical meeting on the 19th, the first competition, individual time trial, will be held the next day on the Havana-Melena del Sur highway.

Competitions from Sept. 21 to 23 will be held at the Reinaldo Paseiro National Velodrome. On Sept 24, the individual race will be held on a closed circuit track near Santa Maria del Mar Beach, and the last stretch of the competition will be held along the Malecon, Cuba   s seaside highway.

The competition is sponsored by the International Cycling Union, the Pan American Cycling Confederation, and the Cuban Cycling Federation.
