The six Cuban weightlifters that will take part at the World Weightlifting Championship, from October 18th through the 30th, are already in Turkey, conducting double training sessions as part of their preparation for the upcoming event.

"Everyone in our team is ready and in top form. They all are very excited, "said Rafael Pacho, national weightlifting commissioner, to Cuban JIT Sports news agency.

Carlos Hernandez, two-times Cuban junior champion and rookie Yasmany Romero, will both compete in the 56 kg division. Over 550 weightlifters from 81 nations will take part at the competition, according to information released by the organizing
committee’s official web page.
