2010.09.13 - 16:09:28 / [email protected]. HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban judokas walked away with three bronze medals during the World Judo Championships that concluded on Monday in Tokyo, Japan.

In the final day of competitions on Monday, the three Cuban representatives —Oscar Braison, Idalis Ortiz and Oreidis Despaigne— were eliminated.

The Cuban medals were won by Ortiz (women’s +78 kg) and Despaigne (men’s 100 kg) and by Yaritza Abel (women’s 70 kg).

The event was dominated by the local team with 10 crowns, four silver and nine bronze medals, followed by France (3-1-3).

Cuba placed 15th with a squad of seven women and four men.
