A year after his death, Cubans remember Revolution Commander Juan Almeida Bosque, one of the legendary and most beloved leaders of the Cuban Revolution.

Floral offerings were placed on Saturday at the mausoleum where his remains now rest.

Cuban television and radio broadcast a documentary film with singers and artists mentioning Almeida's virtues and his condition as a musical songwriter.

Almeida's funeral after his death took place on September 15, 2009, headed by Cuban President Raul Castro.

Juan Almeida Bosque was one of the three Revolution Commanders, together with Ramiro Valdes Menendez and Guillermo Garcia Frias.
