HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 19 (acn) The Sao Paulo Forum (FSP) claimed for the lifting of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba and the freedom of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters imprisoned in the United States.

The claim was stated in a message signed by all Argentinean political parties attending the 16th FSP meeting and it was read out loud at the opening session of the event underway in Buenos Aires.

In addition, Manuel Zelaya, Honduras' constitutional president, who was toppled by a coup d’état, said the blockade should be ended and he described it as the cruelest imperialist action led in the American continent.

The full sessions of the meetings started on Thursday and will run until Friday afternoon when the final declaration of the meeting will be issued.

The meeting’s program includes the analysis of a draft of the final statement. Among other issues, the document highlights
the example of the Cuban Revolution for the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

FSP brings to its meetings left-wing, center-left and progressive political parties. It was founded in 1990 by the Worker Party of Brazil in Sao Paulo, from where it took its name.
