The French movie maker, Laurent Cantet, the winner of the Gold Palm in Cannes, in 2008 will undertake in this capital a movie project made up by seven histories, which will be directed by six foreign and a Cuban producer.

“Right now I am working with the Cuban writer Leonardo Padura, who is writing a story for the movie project, in which the Cuban producer Juan Carlos Tabío will act as host for the other directors,” said Cantet.

Padura explained to the press that the movie Siete días en La Habana (Seven days in Havana), includes seven stories, each one for a different day, they spend in the Cuban capital, writer by script writers from our country.

The writer pointed out that the story he will be dealing with is about a Cuban who emigrated to the United States and returns to his country and it will be directed by Cantet. He added that they are still negotiating to define the other directors. The project, in which producing companies from Spain and France shall take place, should be filmed this year in the Cuban capital.

Cantet, is the director and script writer of seven full length movies, among them La clase, the title of the Spanish version of Entre les murs, winner in Cannes and director of photography of three more. He is considered as one of the greatest movie makers in the European circuit.
