HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 7 (acn) Commander in Chief Fidel Castro insisted on his warning of the terrible consequences a new war could bring to mankind and reiterated his call to US President Barack Obama to avoid an armed conflict, during an extraordinary meeting of the parliament.

In his statement at the meeting, which was also attended by President Raul Castro, Fidel said he hopes Obama will become aware of the consequences of the decision he has to take and asked the leaders of the world powers, whether they are US allies or not, to join his call to urge Obama not to give the order to attack.

Fidel pointed out that the conditions for an unexpected situation were developing.

He considered the recent removal from the punishment cell of Gerardo Hernandez, one of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters imprisoned in the US, was something that had not happened in years of fierce hatred by the United States against Cuba.

Fidel said that Washington's next step could be either to authorize Hernandez's wife Adriana Perez to visit her husband in jail, his immediate release, or both.

He noted that Hernandez' mood is the best he has had in 12 years of imprisonment, while stressing that the antiterrorist fighter will not give an inch to the US demands.

Fidel stated that, on the other hand, the US has mobilized various war forces to initiate an aggression. He said when the critical moment comes, president Barack Obama would be the one to give the order of the announced and expected attack,
with which he would be ordering the instant death not only of hundreds of millions of people, including a countless numbers of people from his own country, but also of the US troops and fleet around Iran.

Fidel added that another consequence of Obama's decision was that the war could expand to the Near and Far East and all of Africa.

He again repeated his call for the leaders of the most powerful countries, allies or not, to beg Obama not to authorize that aggression.

Fidel said the current world order will eventually disappear, and that the convertible currencies imposed by imperialism will lose their value as instruments of domination, while new forms of the distribution of goods, services, education and direction of social process will emerge.

Otherwise, if war breaks out, the current social order will abruptly vanish and the price will be much higher, Fidel warned.

However, the world's population could be renewed, non-renewable resources could be preserved, climate change could be avoided, useful work for all humans could be guaranteed, the sick could be treated; the essential knowledge, culture,
science at the service of humanity could be secured; children, teenagers and youths across the world would not die in that nuclear holocaust, highlighted Fidel, before giving the floor to the deputies.
