The Cuban children’s theater group La Colmenita, Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), begins on Wednesday a European tour that will take them to Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

Prensa Latina reports that on Wednesday they will be received at the Children’s Palace in Bucharest, the Romanian capital, where they will perform on August 12.

La Colmenita recently concluded a tour around several Spanish cities in Andalusia and Cantabria where they offer 24 performances in theaters, plazas, hospitals, schools and rehabilitation centers for disabled people.

This Cuban children’s theater group was founded in 1990 to promote human values through artistic creation.

They have received several national and international awards such as the CIFEJ medal of UNICEF, the Elena Gil Iberoamerican Distinction, and the Caracol Award of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC).

La Colmenita has also performed in the United States, Canada, Finland, France and Germany.
