The Legendary Juan de Marcos & The Afro-Cuban All Stars Celebrated July 4th at SOB’s

Juan De Marcos is known as one of the most important figures in Cuban music today. Formerly a member of Sierra Maestra, Juan De Marcos & The Afro-Cuban All Stars have been a big contributing factor to the popularity of Cuban music all over the world.

The group became internationally known for their 1997 album 'A Toda Cuba Le Gusta', which was recorded at the Buena Vista Social Club Session.

Off the success of this recording De Marcos & The Afro-Cuban All Stars were able to tour all over the world playing concerts audiences of all types.

The Afro-Cuban All Star's sound represents a diverse mix of Cuban music including mambo, cha-cha, salsa, rumba, son & timba. The result is reminiscent of old-style Havana but at the same time innovative, mostly due to the multi-generational component of the group.

Members have included a veritable who's who of world renowned Latin musicians like Ruben Gonzalez, Ibrahim Ferrer, Manuel "Puntillita" Licea and Caridad Hierrezuelo.

The Afro Cuban All Stars have played sold out concerts at Carnegie Hall and Town Hall; SOB’s is proud to present a rare intimate headlining show that is virtually unheard of.
