Flights to Cuba could very well be on the increase soon if keen travellers happen to catch a gig by one of the country's most famous bands - the Buena Vista Social Club - this year.

The group are to head off on a world tour, with pit stops in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles this week - the first time it has appeared in the US since 2003 - before jetting off to Europe, Reuters reports.

Gigs are taking place in the Big Apple on June 24th and in the Windy City on June 26th, before the musicians hit Tinseltown's Hollywood Bowl on June 27th.

But Europe's music fans are perhaps the luckiest of all - the collective will be playing 25 concerts in venues across the continent.
