The US Social Forum is slated for June 24 in Detroit, Michigan, focusing in International Resistance and Solidarity and Migration Workers from Latin America to the United States.

Among participating organizations there are: School of the Americas Watch,Wastenaw Interfair Coalition for Immigrant Rights, Latin America Solidarity Coalition, Alliance for Global Justice, Campaign for Labor Rights, Nicaragua Network, Venezuela Solidarity Campaign and Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador.

Endorsing the forum there are also the US-El Salvador Sister Cities, National Immigrant Solidarity Network, the Haiti Action Network, Marin Task Force on the Americas and the Chicago Nicaragua Solidarity Workers Coop, the Cuba Solidarity New York, Union del Barrio of Los Angeles and San Diego, California.

The session on Latin American immigration to the US will discuss the disastrous effects of the Free Trade Agreement with several Latin American countries, imposed by Washington and US transnationals on Latin America, destroying Latin American economies and forcing millions of workers to emigrate to the US, where they become modern-day slaves, have their human rights violated and are humiliated.
