The Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés, will offer a concert next May four in the Amadeo Roldán Auditorium Theater, in the Cuban capital, dedicated to the bicentennial of the birthday of the composer Federico Chopin, AIN informed.

Valdés will perform on the piano pieces by the famous Polish musician, as well as the Black Mass, informed the press office of the musician.

He will perform this work to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the international premiere of the original piece, in the Jamboree Jazz Festival in Poland.

Apart from his usual repertoire, the outstanding concert player will present pieces from Chucho?s Steps, its most recent record.

Valdés founded the group Irakere in 1973, after passing through the Orquesta Cubana de Música Moderna (Cuban Modern Music Orchestra).

The winner of seven Grammy Awards, Chucho is considered one of the best pianists in the world and, according to the specialized world critic, as one of the best four Jazz players of the world as well.
